WRIXAS 2 (AKA The Spring WRIXAS 2012) was the second Writers Express Awards ceremony. The results were revealed on 2nd April 2012, although the process had begun in March 2012. The ceremony was held three months after WRIXAS 1, and included many new projects such as The Avenue, Crown Law, Family Ties, High Peak 1.0, Redgate, Saints High and Seymore Valley as well as previous hits including The Forest's, St George's, These Days 1.0 and Uncertain Nights. These replaced several dropped projects - In Gear, Lem's Casualty and Ocean Lane. In Gear was dropped so that author 'allthingsuk' could work on several other projects. Lem's Casualty was cancelled in favour of Lem's Coronation Street, whilst Ocean Lane came to an end because its author 'jark' - a founding member of the forum - decided to leave Writers Express. He has not returned since.
This was the first WRIXAS to include a Shortlist.

Stats & Trivia
As WRIXAS 1 before it, WRIXAS 2 boasted 15 sub-categories within 3 categories: Drama, Fan:Fic and Soap. There were 19 winners because 4 sub-categories had shared winners, which was one more than last time. There were 181 options to vote for - an increase of 50 on WRIXAS 1 - which remains a record number. At this stage, the WRIXAS still had no visual promotion or formal awards ceremony.
Some categories were dropped, whilst others were merged. 'Best Scripted Episode' and 'Best non-Scripted Episode' were merged into one Best Episode sub-category, as few projects at WRIXAS 2 were scripted. Similarly, 'Best Scripted Scene' and 'Best non-Scripted Scene' became simply Best Scene. 'Biggest Shock' was renamed Best Shock, whilst 'Best Relationship' became Best Couple. 'Best Fan Fiction' transformed into Best Fan:Fic Project, and 'Best Villain' was now Best Baddie. Finally, 'Best Scripted Soap' and 'Best non-Scripted Soap' became simply Best Soap. The Moment Of The Year sub-category was dropped altogether, whilst Best New Project, Best Collaborative Project and Best Solo Project all made their debut.
Soap ''High Peak 1.0 was the most successful project at WRIXAS 2, picking up five awards - matching the amount picked up by These Days 1.0 at WRIXAS 1:
- Best Episode (Episode 20: Exit Strategy)
- Best Scene (Episode 20: Molly's Emotional Exit)
- Best Friendship (Jaimee Sheldon & Luke Rowland)
- Best New Project
- Best Collaborative Project
This did not diminish the continued the success of These Days 1.0 however, which managed to collect another four trophies for its mantlepiece:
- Best Male Character (Glen Wright)
- Best Shock (Ben Causes Rosemary's Heart Attack?)
- Best Newcomer (Ben Warren)
- Best Solo Project
New drama Crown Law also put in a strong performance, itself collecting four awards, making it more successful than any drama at WRIXAS 1:
- Best Female Character (Helen Allinson)
- Best Episode (No Way Back)
- Best Shock (Layton Destroys An Incriminating Tape)
- Terry Layton (Best Baddie)
Birmingham soap opera Uncertain Nights managed to scoop another three accolades for itself:
- Best Female Character (Leah Richardson)
- Best Storyline (Raymond's Evil Scheming)
- Best Exit (Raymond Evans)
Meanwhile, The Forest's managed to pick up another award, this time for Best Friendship (Lisa and Sam), whilst Lem's Fan:Fic Coronation Street won Best Fan:Fic Project - the second consecutive time Lem had won such an award for a project. Unfortunately, high school soap opera St. Georges was the only surviving project from WRIXAS 1 not to win a WRIXA this time round.
The following projects did not win any awards at this ceremony. There were 10 this time, compared to 13 last time:
- AppleCobbler's Coronation Street
- AppleCobbler's Emmerdale
- Family Ties (AppleCobbler/Ross)
- Jess' Coronation Street
- Jess' EastEnders
- Lem's Waterloo Road
- Redgate (Ross)
- Ross' Emmerdale
- Saints High (allthingsuk)
- Seymore Valley (Jaay)
