The WRIXAS
(also known as The Writers Express Awards) is a bi-annual ceremony held at the end of every February and August. Before 2014, it was held tri-annually.

The purpose of the WRIXAS is to celebrate 'the best of the best' of forum material published in the last six months of an eligibility window. These periods are from February-July and August-January respectively.

In order to be eligible, projects must meet certain eligibility criteria, such as having produced a sufficient number of episodes. Since August 2015, forum members must also meet certain eligility criteria in order to qualify. Anyone who has given more than 50% annual feedback is eligible to submit and to vote in the WRIXAS; between 26 and 50% means they can submit but not vote; and 25% or less means they can neither vote nor submit.

The next ceremony is due to be held at 17:55 (BST) on Sunday 28th February 2016, and will run for approximately 95 minutes as usual. Seven forum members will participate in the process this time, six of them eligible both to sumbit and vote; one to submit but not to vote; and one to vote but not submit.

ConceptionEdit

The Writers Express Awards were first suggested as an idea in December 2011 by an original but now inactive forum member, AM32. AM32 took charge of the first ceremony, but since WRIXAS 2, forum owner Noxy has assembled, organised and posted both the ceremonies and subsequent tweets on Twitter, with peers AppleCobbler and Ross assisting in this process for stints in 2013. In 2012 and 2013, the event was held tri-annually, but since 2014 it is held bi-annually, intended to be each February and August.
